Carpe Vita Supports Photo Credits

Carpe Vita Photography wants to thank Design Sponge for sharing this with their readership – because that’s where we saw this first.  But to the point, thank you to designers Pia Jane Bijkerk and Erin Loechner who utilized Yvette Van Boven’s handmade font.  As photographers, this is a subject near and dear to our hearts.  Thanks ladies! – please do consider printing a poster – we would love to hang in everywhere!

As we see photography in the world change daily and the usage/appreciation change, it is so important to give credit where credit it due.  I liken it to food for the artist – when people utilize the photographs and don’t give credit where credit is do, we are essentially taking food from that artist’s (may it be the photographer, the person with the initial vision, the art director, stylist, graphic designer or any other person along the creative train that I have overlooked) table.  “Help feed” the artists by remembering to give credit where credit is due – and of course, any consumer would want credit for the work they do in their world.

From catering mainly to consumers – high school seniors portraits, wedding photography and other celebrations of life including expecting parent photos to newborn photography and beyond – we find that individuals don’t always know what to do or even think twice about posting something on their own personal media that might give the artist’s their credit.

Thanks again ladies, the Professional Photographers of America and WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) to name just a few associations should take notice!
